CR&R’s Free Bulky Pickup in Hemet: Full Rules and Limits Explained
CR&R Environmental Services offers two free bulky item pickups per year to most Hemet residential customers. It is one of the most useful free options available to Hemet homeowners — but it comes with limits that are easy to miss if you have not read the fine print. Here is how it actually works.
Who Gets the Free Bulky Pickup
The free bulky pickup program is available to residential customers who are billed through CR&R — which is most Hemet addresses, but not all. If your address is served by Waste Management of the Inland Empire instead of CR&R (some 5-digit address formats in Hemet), you would need to contact Waste Management directly for their equivalent program.
What the Free Pickup Covers
- Two pickups per year per residential account
- Each pickup is limited to approximately 3 cubic yards of material
- Or a limit of two large items per pickup
- Standard bulky household items — furniture, appliances, mattresses
What Is Not Covered
- Hazardous materials (paint, chemicals, batteries, propane)
- Construction and demolition debris
- Tires
- Medical waste
- Commercial quantities of any material
- Anything over the 3 cubic yard or 2 large item limit
How to Schedule
Contact CR&R directly to schedule your free bulky pickup. Their customer service number is on your monthly bill, or you can find it on the City of Hemet’s official waste and recycling page. You will need to have your account number ready.
When the Free Pickup Is Not Enough
If you have more than the 3 cubic yard limit, items that do not qualify, or you have already used both free pickups for the year, a paid junk removal service is usually the next step. We can often clear the same day or next day, which is faster than a scheduled bulky pickup date.
Need More Than the Free Limit?
Call or text (951) 555-7777. We cover everything the free pickup does not — more items, items that do not qualify, faster turnaround, and no limit on volume.
