Hemet Beautiful Cleanup Day: What to Know Before You Go

Hemet Beautiful is one of the city’s most useful annual events for homeowners who want to clear out accumulated junk without paying for a truck. Here is what you need to know before you show up, including what the event does and does not take — and what to do with the things that do not qualify.

What Is Hemet Beautiful?

Hemet Beautiful is a community cleanup event organized by the City of Hemet in partnership with local organizations. It gives residents a chance to drop off large items, yard waste, and household junk at a central location without needing a special bulky pickup appointment or a trip to Lamb Canyon Landfill in Beaumont.

What Is Typically Accepted

  • Furniture and large household items
  • Yard waste and green debris
  • Old appliances (check the current year’s guidelines for refrigerant-containing units)
  • Electronics in some years — check the event flyer
  • General household junk that does not fit in a standard bin

What Is Usually Not Accepted

  • Hazardous materials (paint, chemicals, motor oil)
  • Tires (sometimes accepted with limits — verify each year)
  • Medical waste or sharps
  • Commercial quantities of debris
  • Construction and demolition material in most cases

When the Event Is Not Enough

Hemet Beautiful works well for residents who have a moderate amount of items that fit within the event guidelines and can transport them to the drop-off location themselves. If you have more than fits in a single truck run, items that do not qualify, or you cannot physically transport the items yourself, a junk removal crew is usually the faster and more practical option.
